If the Muslims do try setting off one of those firecrackers that "keeps on giving", I hope President Bush now has sufficient understanding of Islam (though I doubt it), or one of his advisors does (though that also seems doubtful) to let him know to nuke Mecca with our most powerful and most radioactive nukes.
Such a reprisal would unmistakably prove to Muslims that several pieces of Islamic doctrine are categorically false. Among them: (1) the sura in the Quran that says Allah would suppress the anger and rage of their enemies, (2) the sura that says that Allah will instill fear into the hearts of their enemies, (3) the teaching that Allah protects Mecca and Medina, (4) the teaching that no infidel will ever destroy or desecrate the Kabaa (the giant black cube in Mecca), (5) Muslims would realize that unless they have already made their Hajj to Mecca, it would no longer be possible to satisfy "Allah's right to purity of worship", of which the Hajj is an integral pillar.
And I am sure there would be numerous other facets where followers would realize that if they were lied to about the above, there are undoubtedly many other lies they were told by the Islamic leadership. That should prompt all but the most hard-core followers to abandon the ideology, and the hard-core hangers-on, the civilized world should exterminate as the pirates, brigands, bandits, and highway robbers that they are. There is already the 1856 Treaty of Paris with regard to pirates. Perhaps it's time to expand its provisions to cover all predatory warfare.
