More rhetoric, less action

Two thoughts: Firstly, our President is good at rhetoric and poor on follow through.

Secondly, though I seldom agree with Krauthammer, I lean toward his way of thinking that the goal of fostering and indeed imposing our version of democracy on the Middle East does not bear comparison to the events in Europe and Asia at the end of WWII. Our enemies of that era were not tribal societies, were not overpopulated with a disproportionate number of people living in poverty and a high rate of illiteracy, without a history of solidarity and with few exceptions, without some element of democracy in their history.

Basically I agree with the concept but doubt that our President, forget the obstacles of getting necessary legislation passed, will do what is necessary to implement whatever it takes to form a course of action. I feel that the so called goals are to justify our position vis a vis Iraq, not that Iraq is a stepping stone in the process.
