Ethanol 2
Reader comment on item: "Saudi Arabia to End Wheat Growing"
in response to reader comment: I realize that you were talking about Brazilian ethanol but look what politics has made happen

Dear Sully:

You said:

"...If Brazil is stupid enough to subsidize the production of ethanol and then sell it abroad, I'm all for taking advantage of it."...

How stupid Brazil may be if it has a surplus of Ethanol and thus assets to be sold and increase their income?

How Stupid Brazil is in helping the environment….

2. If the US subsidizes… Such subsidies and regulations will necessarily end up being manipulated to help special interest groups....

Humm...really...

Oil does not serve special interest now, does it :-)...the difference is that when serving special interests with Ethanol, it will not serve terrorists, Arabs or Muslims. It will decrease the Dubai arrogance and the Iranian Nazism, and also some big fat cats in Washington. The damage is decreased.

Yet, even if Ethanol was to be extracted from Corn...The US would end up losing good food, as you said? Really...for example what: Corn Syrup?

And, traditional companies that still see plenty of oil on Earth will NOT stop their interests in there. More Oil was found in the Arctic Pole, is being found in the US and now also found in Brazil.

3. In My opinion, only islamists would find Ethanol not viable and contest the serve of special interests, which would not include Muslim/Nazis/Chavez/Sheiks/America's betrayers' interests.

All the Best,

Ynnatchkah
