Bush the RadicalReader comment on item: Bush the radical Submitted by Lori-Ann Bernath (United States), Nov 12, 2003 at 11:51 You seem to praise President Bush for insisting on the creation of a Palestinian state. This insistence, I feel, undermines his war on terrorism. It was fine to propose statehood IF the Palestinians did certain things. It is evident, however, that they will not do those things and that the Palestinian people are still spoon-fed anti-Israel, antisemitic, anti-America propaganda in their PA-controlled media, by their PA-approved imams, and in their schools. What President Bush should do immediately is move the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem. He campaigned on this and the Palestinians have done nothing to indicate that they deserve the president's reconsideration about this. As the Palestinians persist in their terrorist efforts, with PA and the Palestinian populace's approval, more and more should be taken off the table in any future negotiations. But Bush does none of this and, instead, criticizes Israel's security fence. While he may not make any actions regarding this (although threatening to withhold funds to Israel is action against Israel), he sends the message that Israel is the problem. The president will not win the war on terror by giving terrorists hope that they may one day achieve their goals or by criticizing states that fight terrorism.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
