Defending the hijabReader comment on item: The Veil Unveiled: The Hijab in Modern Culture Submitted by Zahra B. (United States), Oct 8, 2003 at 09:27 I am very dissapointed in what Sanam has said. I live in America and decided on my own to start the hijab. I don't understand how one person can call themself a muslim when they dont even follow the rules of it, when someone else does follow the rules and call themself one too. Obviously Sanam hasn't looked into the reasons behind the hijab, because she wouldn't be disgracing it online. What anyone believes about this topic is their own business, but it is no ones right to criticize, this is freedom. Like in America we cannot go to a supermarket naked, in places like Saudi they have their own set of rules.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
