Misinterpretation of Muslim Beliefs

Reader comment on item: Jihad through History
in response to reader comment: Muslim terrorism -Jihad in the service of Islamism or justifiable revenge?

Submitted by Peace lover (Bangladesh), Jan 1, 2008 at 00:12

Sir,

Unfortunately I do not agree to the opinions and conclusions drawn in this article. Like any other society the Muslims demand justice if violence is committed against the society. There are many examples where other religions have committed the same against a religious group ( like Gujrat violence in India, Bombay violence in India, Violence against the Shikhs after the death of Indira Gandhi, Violence against the Shiks in Swarnamandir in Punjab).

I am a muslim and I did not at all like the idea of killing innocent civilians like me. millions of Muslims hate to kill innocent civilians in the name of Jihad. But if you provocate an abnormal person to do the same he will what the learned and civilised world is doing against a group of weak and helpless people. I know for sure there are millions of non muslims do not like they way they are treated everywhere in the world.

Please stop this injustice the world will be in peace. Jihad means a war against self to purify one self.

Peace lover
