Let's be honest, in both tone and substance Landau did "articulate what many Israelis feel." And what many average Israelis feel is laziness, political inertia and the misguided notion that someone besides themselves (namely the USA) will always come along to solve their problems. How else to explain their quiet acquiescence to the clique of poltical retreads and recycled failures that runs their government and the serial mistakes that send their country careening from one crisis to the next.
