Missing point and slogans.Reader comment on item: Turkey, Still a Western Ally? Submitted by mel (United States), Dec 8, 2007 at 22:26 Mr. Pipes' premise is a solution, not a slogan, as you threw. The main problematic lays down in the core of his method. He suggests that, for a clarification : "If Turkey does this, we should do that". Namely, if they choose to cut ties with west, then west, in order to prevent further alienation, deny Turkey completely. But, how in the world that could be a solution for further alienation. This may only serve a black and white world. Although it is getting clearer day by day, in Europe and the rest of the world, people are approaching a stronger conservatism.
