The West's Greatest Challenge

Reader comment on item: Not Child's Play: The Teddy-Bear Intifada

Submitted by GWK (United States), Dec 3, 2007 at 14:18

Teddy bear or not, the blog hits the nail on the head. The West is all comfy in its freedoms and just not able to fathom the depth of repression that lies in wait should the West become the victim of Islamist militancy and stridency. The West's greatest challenge, perhaps on a scale far greater than the challenge of communism itself, is how to adapt to a world where a plurality religion will soon emerge that acquiesces to murder on theological grounds.
