As shocking as it is, the problem is not surprising. To fight terrorism abroad, we go to extreme measures to guarantee the rights of Moslems in the US. We still suffer from excessive attempts to root out communists and contain Nisei in WW2. So we bend backwards to demonstrate that Islam is free to thrive in America. It seems that 9/ll has not changed this legacy. Communists and Nisei were never terrorists. We are blind to the difference. It will probably take some more wake up calls to act responsibly to protect against radical Islam securing footholds in the military and government, and prisons. Not to be ignored is the vulnerability of Americans who have been subject to racial discrmination to become domestic recruits of Islam terrorists.
