in response to reader comment: WE SHOULD ALL BE HERETICS

The human species , according to Rollo May and other psychologists, seems hard wired for a belief in myth. From the cave dwellers to the present, humans have created mythologies to bring order to the chaos around them. As the intellectual capacity has grown, the myth making, far from lessening, has grown in variety and expanded and even elevated to religion. Some theories point to the bicameral nature of the human brain to explain the universality of myth making. This is not really a problem, unless and until a mythology emerges which produces harm to the individual or group..

So it is with the mythology of so called "Islam". The dogma of this particular mythology contains elements which are destructive to the group and the individual. Requiring ,as it does, violence to the human person to gain access to the deity. Since humans seem 'hard wired' for myth, there are instances where the myth becomes a perversion. Such was the case with the Hindu Thugees, whos myth of the deity 'Kali' required killing to satisfy the deity. In the case of 'Islam' the killing or 'martyrdom' is for the individual, as it is the only way to commune with the deity, although 'paradise' may be had by pious living, the deity is accessable only by the loss of human life. This amounts to human sacrifice, and is completely unacceptable. Those who have internalized the myth, much like the Thuggees, are claimed for life, and penalized with death for rejection of the myth. Once self identification of 'muslim' is internalized, personality changes do occur. These changes may be as mild as name change or compliant clothing,or as severe as homicidal/suicidal ideation. As a group, these symptoms comprise a " Muslim Personality Disorder".
