I share your contempt for Condi's reasoning.

I worked with her on dissolution-of-Soviets-and-Warsaw-Pact issues when she was in the Bush (Sr.) administration (I think she was on the NSC then?) and I was in another national security organization but obviously the various entities met to forge US responses.

I was very impressed with her then, but her performance over the past seven years, working for the Idiot in Chief on non-Soviet things has been dreadful and disappointing.

She is a Soviet expert (as I was) but she really has never moved beyond that world-view.

Russia is a third-order problem now (after Islam and China) and I don't think she realizes it.

Rather than helping The Idiot understand that, she is just working with The Idiot to implement his policies, and jointly trying to save what they can save of their failed legacy.
