U.S.-Israel relations hanging by a thread?Reader comment on item: Annapolis Blues Submitted by Michael Baker (United States), Oct 29, 2007 at 19:52 Although there is some truth in Professor Pipe's November, 2004, linked article, "Arafat's Last Threat to Israel?" I have to say, I think that statement U.S.-Israel relations hanging by a thread is a bit exaggerated. What is happening in the American Evangelical Christian community in behalf of national Israel, and continues to happen, is something the U.S. government will have to contend with in their relations with Israel for the forseeable future. From Hagee and Christians United For IsraeI, to Jim Hutchens and the Jerusalem Connection, to Joel Rosenberg, who has and continues to make the rounds of the sizeable Calvary Chapel faith community, the numbers we are looking at in their fundraising, book and DVD sales, as well as their radio, television, and Internet reach, is quite substantial. I am an eye-witness to that. If the U.S. throws Israel to the dogs, it will not happen in a corner, as well as cause long term political repercussions for the engineers of any such policy moves.
