Political types, left and right, know very little about art and probably should just leave us artists alone. I'm sick to death of Stalin's "peopleness and partiness" in the arts and right wingers wanting various nationalist and moral qualities in art too. To us, the left and right are "twin arse with one belly" to quote an infamous poet who "lost [his] center fighting the world." Artists seduced into politics, politicians meddling in art. Let's drink not from the same cup, eh? I won't run for office, don't try to make my paintings.
