The analogy Rice makes to the Black struggle for freedom is but a smoke-screen for the real thing. The real thing is the the Sec of State is but a beautiful window-dressing for the State Department. The State Department's attitude toward Israel has always been Israel is a "shitty little country" that sentimental idiots and right-wing religious spoofs love for irrelevant reasons.
The State department's policy, regrdless of the rulling President or congress or senate, or the American public, is that Israel should be wiped off the map, because the world-map would be so much neater without it. The fact that it means 6 million more dead Jews doesn't ruffle a feather in the State Department, nor a Whithall nor Quay d'Orsay because Oil, and 300 million Arabs and 1300 million Muslims are worth more than 6 million miserable Jews. Or Darfurians for that matter, or Armenians for that matter. Or Copts or Nestorians or Assyrians, or Maronites.
Pragmatism means that the Arabs be appeased by helping to sweep the shitty little country off to the sea and the sooner the better. That is nothing new, or surprising, nothing was done to save the Jews from Hitler, and his Jewish policy is still in force as far as the State Department is concerned. For how else can you explain CIA training of Arab murderers in Jericho, and 410 M in aid to the Islamo-fascist PLO terror infrastructure?
I have no idea if Sec Rice was of such mind before she took the job, but once she did she subscribed to it with great fervor, going so far as invoking Martin Luther King, a true giant among men, as the alter-ego of Abu Mazen, a Nazi-trained terrorist wearing a tie and running the sleaziest racket masquerading as an Authorty. On the other hand, she probably does not have a choice. Otherwise the denizens of the State Department would have eaten her alive, spike heels and all, and spit the bones to be bleached.
Anapolis deserves better than a dog-and pony show of the incompatibles dancing their way to the gibbet, and the blood-shed that will surely follow.
