The Beginning of Israel's Demise (and U.S. retreat)

Reader comment on item: Annapolis Blues

Daniel Pipes article on the upcoming Annapolis talks once again displays his clarity of analyses-and common-sensical conclusions.

To American Jews it is frightening that the United States' apparent aim is to coerce Israel to negotiate with a party that will talk and talk and talk-but has refused to negotiate in good faith.

It seems that every time the Palestinans are ready to sneeze, the US forces Israel to negotiate a "Gezundheit." The portents are clear: Israel will suffer due to Secretary of State Rice's refusal to learn from the past-that negotiations , as Dr. Pipes puts it, must begin with a common premise and the acknowledgement that both parties should survive and prosper.

I believe, the Annapolis talks is the long, lone walk towards the toll of the bell of doom for Israel; it is also the point which historians will view as the beginning of the end for Western Interests- for it is the date when Islamo-fascists shall believe they are winning The War Against Terror-and portrays a weak-willed U.S. who would rather appease her avowed enemies than fight them .

It is appalling that Dr. Rice believes (if Dr. Pipes is correct) that the Israeli/Palestinian imbroglio is just like the African-American fight to achieve civil rights.

If a white person concluded this it would be termed racist. Why? Because the Palestinians condone and practice the killing of Israeli civilians (men, women and children)! When was that practiced by African-Americans?

Her anti-Israel bias leaves me very disheartened as to her actual concern with Israel's survival.

Her obvious (at least to me) anti-Israel bias leaves me very disheartened as to her actual concern with Israel's survival (no matter what she says). It also indicates and emphasizes her obstinacy and foolishness regarding America's diplomacy concerning Iran.
