Mr. Vijay,
Who cares if there is an increase in anti-American feelings should the U.S. attempt, once again, to hold Arab/Israeli talks in November?
Unfortunately, many Americans these days seem to suffer from a sort of neurosis that reveals itself in an intense need to be liked, even loved, by the world. This is not a neurosis I am subject to. Therefore, I am quite willing to disregard what is politically correct and say what I feel, whenever I happen to bump into a comment like yours.
As long as the Arab world continues to look away from itself and blame others for its problems, won't poverty and repression just go on and on? Instead of blaming America, why don't you and those with similar feelings look in the direction of people who never want there to be peace in the Middle East? Hizbollah for instance? Hamas? Why not look at the trouble they cause? However, I realize there are two sides to the story. Israel has "accidents." Hizbollah/Hamas just comes out with it. "We take responsibility..." Either way, someone dies.
There was intense anti-Americanism when Mr. Bush appeared to be ignoring the Arab/Israeli situation. Now you write that anti-Americanism will increase if the U.S. does get involved. Can America ever do anything right ?
I'm writing in a very simplistic manner, I realize - but somehow, in the seemingly endless confusion of the Arab/Israeli situation, a little simplicity might be a good thing.
