I agree with all you said, so I'm not sure why you meant me to read the Hamas Charter as I know it by heart. you know that, as part of the Oslo Accords, the PA (ne: the PLO) was supposed to change their charter in which it states "We envision an independent Palestinian state from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean," (meaning no room for Israel), a phrase repeated by Yassir Arafat every time he spoke, IN ARABIC, to the Palestinians. The original PLO charter (which Arafat helped to craft) says the same thing.

His grand plan -- which both Hamas and the "moderate" PM Abbas of Fatah are following -- was to continue terrorist attacks to pressure Israel into surrendering land, AND/OR inducing Israel to use military means to fight these attacks while simultaneously using political means to bring world condemnation on Israel's use of force to stop these attacks, and force Israel to make concessions that would, in effect, eliminate Israel as a Jewish state.

So far, it was worked perfectly. As a prime example, it led to the turnover of Gaza to the PA, which Hamas has labeled a "military victory for Palestinian resistance." This is nothing new, EVERY PIECE of land turned over to the PA as part of "peace negotiations" has been used to validate terrorist attacks by claiming that they were the reason why "Israelis were driven from Palestinian lands with their tails between their legs."

Israel has never been able to counter the mighty PA propaganda and PR campaign. They7 never even tried to mount one themselves. Unlike the Palestinian terror groups who lie through their teeth and never admit to doing anything unless it benefits them politically and militarily, Israel and the IDF chomp at the bit to admit responsibility for many actions that were proven to be false accusations: the more damaging one was the alleged bombing of a "bomb shelter/school/childre's hospital" at Qana -- a totally staged "atrocity" uncovered by hundreds of bloggers worldwide.

I have never understood this desperate need to apologize before all of the facts are known AND to accept, prima facie, what their enemy claims.

Which part of "perfidy in war, making and breaking peace treaties, and deliberately deceiving one's enemy in the name of Allah is a virtue," does Israel NOT understand?
