My dear Mr. Pipes

I wish you well in the task in front of you ... and yet I shiver at the immense scope that must be given to the task at hand.

You have not received a prize but rather a commission of fathomable complexity. I am not a 'neutral' observer as a citizen of Canada for indeed the world village means we all must bear ourselves responsibly. I respect the fact that you are courageous enough to undertake your appointment and trust to your better angels that you will have some moment to bring about a more stable world.

There is a tide in the affairs of men ……….
