house demolitionsReader comment on item: Cut Gaza's power? Submitted by Fred Schlomka (Israel), Sep 11, 2007 at 01:26 Collective punishment is a violation of the Geneva Convention and International Law. One should also note that in 2004 the IDF ceased punitive house demolitions based on research that showed they were counter productive, and increased terror rather than decreasing it. Vengeance should not be confused with appropriate and successful military tactics. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Comments are screened and in some cases edited before posting. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
