Israel would get hell internationally at first but they're tactics worth using Reader comment on item: Cut Gaza's power?

Dear Mr. Pipes,
Critics of your assertion that Israel's international standing wouldn't suffer as a result of a resort to harsh counter-strikes against Gaza would probably point to how vehemently Israel was denounced during the siege of Jenin and Bethlehem etc. And they'd recall , in contrast, how warmly Sharon was greeted at the UN after the withdrawal from Gaza.
However, your central point is right. Israel's enemies have consistently reacted to its concessions with scorn and a revived sense of hope that Israel can ultimately be destroyed.
