In Dr. Pipes' previous article in the Jerusalem Post (2001, Preventing war: Israel's options) one can read almost verbatim what has been written in this new blog. Such phrases as "shutting off of utilities" sound familiar ; "acceptance of the Jewish State" is used in this recent article and seems to be a phrase widely used, and it is the wish and demand of some of us who know that Israel has always had a right to exist.
It is very simple to someone like me, who happens to believe that God's promise to the people of Israel still is in effect: Genesis 13: 14-17: " And the LORD said unto Abram, after Lot was separated form him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward, for all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed forever. And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth, so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered. Arise, walk though the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it to thee. "
Although I and people like me may be ridiculed as naive and unintellectual for believing this, I truly believe that God will restore Israel to its rightful people. In the meantime, however, there will be no continuous peace and Israel may continue to make the same mistakes of caving in to the demands of not only the Palestinian leaders, but also the rest of the politically-correct but blinded, world. Once before I asked where are the brave leaders of Israel? Is there another King David out there somewhere? Will cutting off utilities really solve the main problem of acceptance of Israel? Endless questions to a seemingly endless battle with no easy solution.
