Is it wise to cut power?Reader comment on item: Cut Gaza's power? Submitted by Nachman Rosenberg (United States), Sep 6, 2007 at 21:06 Did you read what Moshe Arens had to say about this idea? He is usually a clear-thinking guy. He opposes it. He says three things will happen: 1. the world will condemn Israel and have sympathy for the Gazans, 2. the world will organize a process to supply Gaza, and 3. Israel will be forced to contribute to this process. He thinks a military response is preferable. Since the range of the rockets is 1 - 3 Km, Israel should clear a buffer zone this deep on their side of the fence into which they cannot come to shoot. This sounds like a better idea to me. Of course, it has risks, but one advantage is that it may advance the larger battle that must inevitably take place.
