Your first mistake is thinking that today's Palestinians have ANYTHING to do with Phillistines...!

in response to reader comment: Palestine is mentioned in Genesis

I read your comment with much amusement. It is dangerous to sound like you know what you are talking about when in fact you have not researched the facts.

The facts are that there were a seafaring people called Phillistines who had many battles with the Israelites. When the Romans destroyed the second temple and crushed the rebellion of the Jews, they anted to punish them and set an example, so they banished them from Jerusalem and renamed the Kingdom of Judah Palestina, the roman version of the word Phillistines, to mock the Jews for their plight and name the region after their enemy.

The area was from that time called Palestina, even until after the Jews resetled in the region in the 19th century. They in fact called themselves Palestinians and were recognized as such. So who are the real Palestinians? Jordanians for the most part, who had no complaints while Jordan possessed the West Bank.

THIS IS THE ONLY FACTUAL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE 'PHILLISTINES' AND THE SO CALLED 'PALESTINIANS'
