Reader comment on item: On Being Borked

Submitted by Charles Geshekter (United States), Aug 26, 2003 at 08:37

We must never forget the source of the slurs, innuendoes and insults hurled at Prof Pipes after his nomination to the advisory board of the U.S. Institute for Peace. The rabid tone and deceptive nature of the remarks merely perpetuated stereotypes about radical Islamists hell bent on the destruction of any peace process, yet refusing to tolerate any views other than their own. Pipes' appointment is a wonderful achievement and I heartily congratulate him on it.
