One Case out of ManyReader comment on item: [Maher Hawash:] The Terrorist Next Door Submitted by T.T. (United States), Aug 24, 2003 at 23:48 In the fifth paragraph, Pipes makes a connection between the man becoming more devout to Islam and his becoming "noticably less friendly." This is probably the most ridiculous association i have ever read in a big-name newspaper. Something that Americans need to understand is that Islam is not evil. Muslims are no different from anyone else, and deserve to be treated fairly. To arrest Muslims without substantial evidence against them is completely unjust.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Comments are screened and in some cases edited before posting. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate. For complete regulations, see the "Guidelines for Reader Comments". Daniel Pipes replies: The reader may find this "ridiculous" but I reported word for word what appeared in the court documents. The deeper point is, "ridiculous" as it may seem, it led to the arrest and guilty plea of Hawash.Comment on this item
