In the fifth paragraph, Pipes makes a connection between the man becoming more devout to Islam and his becoming "noticably less friendly." This is probably the most ridiculous association i have ever read in a big-name newspaper. Something that Americans need to understand is that Islam is not evil. Muslims are no different from anyone else, and deserve to be treated fairly. To arrest Muslims without substantial evidence against them is completely unjust.

The reader may find this "ridiculous" but I reported word for word what appeared in the court documents. The deeper point is, "ridiculous" as it may seem, it led to the arrest and guilty plea of Hawash.
