religion and academia never served the same purposeReader comment on item: Stop the NYC Madrassa Submitted by kantipala (Thailand), Aug 20, 2007 at 04:21 I am against any religious school. In my view religion deals with spiritual world, and academia deals with the physical world. In my judment it is 6 kinds of crazy to cross the two into one setting. Whether Islamic or Buddhist, crossing the two institutions is setting yourself up for a huge blunderous mistake. The same logic applies to the government. Government deals with physical world, and religion governs the spiritual. The 21 st century has already evolved the seperation between the two, and I beleive would do well to seperate religion and education. These boundaries are the lubricant that allows the gears of our society to turn, and why the gears of islamic societies have long since stopped turning.
