Gulf War 1991 Redux?

Does Dr. Pipes see the Western reaction to an upcoming Iranian attempt to invade Bahrain as analogous to that directed against Saddam Hussein's invasion of Kuwait? Might an American-led coalition drive Iran out of Bahrain and then install tougher measures against Iran's WMD programs through the UN, leaving the Islamic Republic weaker but still in power?
