On the latest article in the Jerusalem Post Internet EditionReader comment on item: Bibliography – My Writings on Burqas, Niqabs, Jilbabs, Chadors, Hijabs, and other Islamic Coverings Submitted by Noach Stern (Australia), Aug 2, 2007 at 00:23 It's time for me to express my thanks and admiration for the calm, reasoned and clearly-expressed writing - and speaking - that I've found in your publications and recorded appearances. One phrase in particular caught my attention and reminded me of all the difficulties I've had in arguing with self-styled moderates and peace-loving anti-war protesters - in the style of our Australian national brodcaster for example - which is often belied by the immoderate and belligerent bias to their behaviour and its consequences. Your phrase is that "good sense calls for modesty itself to be modest." In circulating the link to others I added the following comment: Pipes' usual well-argued and well-researched material contains a memorable phrase: "good sense calls for modesty itself to be modest." Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Comments are screened and in some cases edited before posting. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
