Comment on Comment on Jose's Not in Hispanic AmericaReader comment on item: Away with Crucifixes, Crosses, and Christmas Submitted by Billy F (European Union), Jul 25, 2007 at 17:48 I would agree that there is still faith in Latin America, but there is more to the lack of an Islamic presence in the area than the locals being devout. The Islamists are not there because at the moment Latin America isn't as liberal with the hand outs than most European countries. It may necessitate the need to work for a living, and there are only so many curry houses and corner shops any country can support. But give it time, Latin America is on the up, once the Governments are able to provide for their poor the way Europe does, there will be more Dhows in the Gulf of Mexico that in the Gulf of Oman.
