Not only sand...Reader comment on item: Salvaging the Iraq War Submitted by Godot (United States), Jul 25, 2007 at 11:31 I admired your highways-over-swamp allegory but I disagree with you on one little/big point. It's not the sandy dunes of the Middle East that are stratigically vital, it's the that black thick liquid underneath the sand.
