When Islamists talk about democracy we have to watch their actions and not their words.

A good example was a news story about a town in Iraq where US female colonel was trying to have a women appointed as a judge. The islamists protested indicating that women cannot be judges as per Islam. The news story also indicated that there were two fatwas issued against the woman in question.

Now this is a good example. Even today, there was a news story that wahabi sunni islam is trying to rear its ugly head in Iraq. One sunni cleric is reported saying that there is no provision for democracy in islam.

Even if there is an election, as someone said, in islam, it is "one man, one vote and one time".

Islamists always try to project the most ideal utopian santized version of Islam to the public at large. Objectivity expects the common layperson to judge its action not words.
