Questions regarding Mujahedeen-e Khalq

Promoting an effective Iranian opposition is obviously in the interest of the West. Is this the right group to rally around? Questions arise with respect to the comment of Dr. PIpes, "....and the MEK is itself accused of being a superannuated Marxist-Islamist terrorist cult."

(1) Who makes these accusations? (2) Is there any merit to them, (3) Does the organizations leadership have a secular and democratic outlook?
