Reader comment on item: Debate: Islam and Democracy

Submitted by S.C.Panda (India), Jul 30, 2003 at 07:33

Dear Dr. Pipes,

I wonder how the second largest section of the humanity feels threatened and who can destroy them. This is natural because Islam did spread by extreme violence against the infidels/kafirs.

Why separate Human Rights for Muslims? This betrays the discriminative attitude of many Muslims vis-a-vis non-Muslims.

Dr M. Khan cleverly avoided an answer to your query on apostacy and blasphemy laws.

And finally, Islam and objectivity, not to talk of democracy, can go together.

Regards, Sincerely, S.C.Panda
